Solution:    Verify that your account user name, password, and other settings are correct in Account preferences. For troubleshooting, I've moved the SyncedRules.plist file from the MailData folder and Mail isn't creating a new file. That fixed it. No joy. navigate here

Basically, you skipped the authentication step when setting up the outgoing emails, so you're sending an email that connects to a server with no credentials, hence the "unable to send" message.
